D H Lawrence's 'Lady Chatterley's Lover' was written in 1928, but was banned because of its sexual content and four-letter words. The censorship was lifted in 1960, but only after the novel's publisher was prosecuted for marketing it.

Henry Miller had all of his works banned until the 60's. Also his lover, Anais Nin. They lived in France in the 1920's. Miller wrote 'Tropic of Cancer'.
