    Question #24418. Bob asks:

How could you have a complete baseball game with only one pitch being thrown?

    Senior Moments

This is purely a guess as I am British and do not understand the rules of baseball. Sometime ago there was an International football (soccer) game between Scotland and Estonia where Estonia failed to turn up. The game was played with Scotland kicking off before the referee blew the whistle to bring the farce to an end. This maybe what has happened here, with one side turning up and the game must be played with one ball being pitched.

I think I remember that game. Scotland still lost 1-0

The first pitch of the game is a homerun. Then every batter after that changes the side of the plate that they are batting from (either left or right) while the pitcher is in their wind up. This causes the batter to be called out before a pitch is ever delivered.
