I don't think the lady in question (Meg Ryan) was 'sleeping in Seattle' I am pretty sure she was from New York and her co star (Tom Hanks) was the sleepless one.
And I know palaceben has the right answer because I did all the research for him.

It's Russell Crowe. He and Meg Ryan (Sleepless in Seattle) starred in 'Proof of Life' last year.
