I know this is not a quiz question but, could somebody point me in the right direction to find a starting point for genealogy research. I live in England but because of circumstances cannot get out to search library records etc. Are there databases online where I can get information from. I do know about the 1901 census site. Thanks?

Try www.familysearch.org which has lots of info plus the British 1881 census. The census is free, unlike the 1901 census.

P.S. Also www.genuki.org.uk provides a lot of information and advice about resources etc.

This is a 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Quiz Machine' question. I have tried to find the answer in foreign dictionaries in a local library but with no luck. I believe the word could be African, possibly Swahili. The question is, what is the meaning of the word 'yumbo?'

A mountaineer starts rapidly climbing up a mountain trail at 6 A.M. He makes frequent and irregular stops to rest or eat. He reaches the summit at 6 P.M. At 6 A.M. the next day, he starts his way back following the same route, stopping only once to eat. He reaches the starting point at 6 P.M. Is there a point on the way where he passes at exactly the same time on both days?
