I'm sure by 'Football' (grouped with baseball and basketball) you probably do not mean soccer but here in England we call it football. John Trollope played 878 league and cup games for Swindon Town FC in his career of 21 seasons spanning 1960 to 1981 Terry Paine played for Southampton for 18 seasons during the period 1956-1974 making 809 appearances. Bill Foulkes played for Manchester United for 18 seasons between 1952 and 1970 and appeared 679 times.
