    When you snap a towel and hear a crack, are you breaking the sound barrier, or is that just the sound of the towel going back and hitting itself?

    		Back in 7th grade science class we had to bring in science related questions every Monday. According to my teacher, the tip of a snapping towel does in fact break the sound barrier.

    they seem to feel the subject is still open to debate.
