I can't remember the exact title, but it was a TV show presented by Noel Edmonds featuring Crinkly Bottom and Mr. Blobby. I think it was on in the early evening of Saturdays.

    Noel's House Party

At the end of the very last show, broadcast on 20th March 1999, Noel Edmunds asked our memories to be kind to the Saturday evening programme. That is not as difficult as it sounds, as long as you only remember the first few years, when Noel's House Party actually was first class entertainmant.

The show was launched in 1991, after The Late, Late Breakfast Show ended in disaster in 1986. Noel's House Party, a live show broadcast on BBC1, contained some elements used in his 1988 Saturday Road Show. Set in a large house in the fictional village of Crinkly Bottom (the name of which inviting many Carry On-esque jokes), the show featured many popular items: the Gotchas (where celebrities were set up in ludicrous situations), NTV (a hidden camera in an unsuspecting viewer's home), Wait Till I Get You Home (kids embarrassing their parents by telling stories about things they shouldn't really know about at their age), and Grab a Grand (a personality grabbing as many bank notes as possible in a wind swept booth for one lucky viewer.)

And then there was the gunge tank... and Mr. Blobby, a pink fat thing with yellow dots. All he could say was 'Blobby,' which only failed to amuse after two years and an annoyingly popular No. 1 single.
