    Question #24585. dave asks:

What are some foods high in iron?

    Son of The Household Cavalry

A can of baked beans on the top shelf perhaps or according to http://www.ag.uiuc.edu/~food-lab/nat/terms/iron.html the recommended intake is 15 mg for women, 10 mg for men. Iron is the only nutrient which more is required for women than men. This is due to the amount lost in blood via the menstrual cycle.
foods containing iron are spinach, liver, red meat, legumes, and oysters.
Iron is a trace mineral in the body. Iron is important in the composition to two important blood proteins, hemoglobin and myoglobin. Iron aids in the transport of oxygen to all cells from the lungs, and serves a very important role in the immune system of the body. Iron deficiency is usually termed iron deficiency anemia. Symptoms include pale skin, fatigue, loss of appetite, and apathy.

Try Baked Beans, Liver, Spinach. A good source of iron in drink is Stout, preferably something like Guinness. Bananas are good for keeping potassium levels up.
