it'd have to be Corinthians, these sites seem to confirm my initial thoughts .. som eparts of the question are, however, debateable. The official history of football by FIFA (it's upstairs somewhere) does not give this club the 'honour' of introducing football to Brazil (see also other parts of the first web site below). The first British team to play in Brazil was the Corinthians, in 1910, which inspired the formation of what is one of the most popular teams in Brazil, the Sport Club Corinthians Paulista. www.brazil.org.uk/page.php?cid=108 The Corinthians (formed by Nick %91Pa' Lane Jackson in 1882) were the founding members of Stoke Park Club when it was created in 1908. You may have heard of the Corinthian spirit even if you have not heard of the Corinthians, as for 30 years they were probably the best football team in the world. They twice provided the England team with all eleven starting players and handed Manchester United their largest ever defeat (11-3) in 1904. www.stokepark.com/history/club.htm
