In the US there is also the Cowbirds.They are the only native American birds to always lay their eggs in nests of other species, and having the young raised by foster parents. Warblers, finches, and sparrows, all smaller than cowbirds, are the chief victims of this pracice, the faster growing foster chick monopolizing food aand space to the detriment of the legitimate offspring. http://yankeegardener.com/birds/cowbird.htm

Here in Hong Kong and South China we have Koels and Malkohas, parasitic (as far as I know) as well as 8 or 9 designated cuckoos, but they all belong to the cuckoo clan.
