Another highest mountain is Mt Aconcagua: its summit is the furthest point on the Earth's surface from the centre of the Earth (due to the Earth being not quite a sphere). Every country has a highest mountain. Denmark, for example, has a highest mountain which is less than 200m high (600 feet). Would this be the lowest highest mountain in the world?

There is a film called 'The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain' starring Hugh Grant. I believe it is based loosely on the truth.
When maps were being made, mountains were only recognised as such if they were over 1000 feet in height. 999 feet and it was only a hill.
The film is about such a hill at only 980 feet, when measured by the surveyor, Hugh Grant, and the local community who had always considered it as a mountain. Long story, but they move tons of earth to make it 20 feet taller and get him to measure it again. 1000 feet is achieved so it's a mountain.
If this is true, then the lowest highest mountain in the world is any at exactly 1000 feet!
