Which of the following has the greatest ' density' (a)Ice, (b) Butter or (c) Oak ?

Question #24985. Asked by Batch. (Dec 08 02 8:10 PM)

'The density of ice Ih is 0.931 gm/cubic cm. This compares with a density of 1.00 gm/cubic cm. for water. There are eleven different forms of crystalline ice that are know. The hexaganol %5Bsic%5D form known as ice Ih is the only one that is found naturally.'

I agree with Kainantu's densities for butter and ice, but I have seen a density for oak of 0.977, making it more dense than ice or butter. I don't believe the figure that Kainantu quotes.

In that case, the figure for oak I saw must be wrong. The correct answer must therefore be 'ICE'.
