Postage stamps in the UK should only ever portray images of the Queen or people that have died, however someone slipped through! Who ?

The rule is The Royal Family and dead people, not just the Queen (otherwise every commemorative stamp with Charles and Di, Anne, Philip etc has been wrong, and that is not the case). The famous case was a woman from the Notting Hill Carnival who was clearly recognisable, even though parts of the picture had been airbrushed/otherwise altered. Her face was visible, and her costume was recognisable. This was some time in the last eight years, IIRC.

A more famous person (although not very noticeable) was Roger Taylor, who, IIRC, is visible in the stage shot in the stamp that honoured Freddie Mercury.

Well done Jac. It was Roger Taylor that I was looking for. Sorry my mistake re just the Queen when it should have been the Royal family.
