No. A quick look at the packet in my kitchen cupboard describes the sugar as 'pure and natural' - no hint of 'Now with added bone'.

E542 is bone phosphate, or bone powder. It is an anti-caking agent, used in cane sugar syrup, and I seem to remember icing sugar often has anti-caking agent, though there are other sorts. (yuk!) http://www.kuruvinda.com/nutrition/additives/animal.shtml Apparently Tate and Lyle, and Silver Spoon (UK brands) sugars are vegan..ie no animal products.
