Define: total energy raised heating Yes, the total energy would be raised, and you'd know it.

The answer is, paradoxically, that the total energy of the air in the room remains the same. When the heat is added, the air in the room expands, and the only way it can do so is by leaking to the outside through the pores and cracks through the walls. The leaking air carries with it the energy added by the heating.
