Regarding the question that has been asked and answered already 'Arsenal soccer team is based in which British city' - the answer is Highbury but I'm not sure if Highbury is actually classed as a British city or whether the answer would be London. Can any of the Poms help an Aussie ?

Arsenal is considered to be a London based team.

Highbury lies within the Borough of Islington which is one of the Inner London boroughs. So the answer most definitely would be London (as distinct from the City of London which is something very different).

Arsenal is named after its original location, Woolwich Arsenal in s.e. London. After moving to the north London area of Highbury around 100 years ago, it dropped the inappropriate Woolwich (unlike Wimbledon who retained their name after moving 60 miles to Milton Keynes in 2003).
Highbury is about 3 miles from the exact centre of London, and I spend many (happy?) years up the road from the stadium taking my degree.
A postscript is they are moving up the road to a bigger stadium which is currently being built, and I have seen 3 games at the current stadium.

Arsenal soccer team is based in which British city?

Back in 2006, I read a quiz question that asked for the largest English city never to have had a team in the Football League's top division. The answer then was Hull, so what is it now?

Here's a question to which I do not know the answer, inspired by dialogue in British novels: if a man is asked, "What did you do last night?" and he replies, "I went to the pub, didn't I?" what do professional linguists call that "interrogative" response?
