    When riding in a car equipped with both an AM and FM radio you notice that while the AM radio cuts out while you are passing under a bridge, the FM radio continues to play. Why is there such a difference in AM and FM reception?

    FM and AM WAVES ARE TRAVEL DIFFERENTLY .FM RADIO WAVES TRAVEL UP and DOWN SO THEY CAN COME DOWN IN BETWEEN LARGE BUILDINGS ETC. AM WAVES TRAVEL SIDE TO SIDE SO CAN GET INTERRUPTED BY LARGE STRUCTURES.
