26 balls...13 reds (13pts) followed by 13 yellows (26pts) = Total 39pts. Your opponent would then have 2 reds (2pts) followed by 2 blacks (14pts) plus the yellow (2pts), green (3pts), brown (4pts), blue (5pts), pink (6pts) and black (7pts) = Total 43pts. You could manage a draw with 27 balls. e.g. 13 reds (13pts) followed by 13 yellows (26pts) plus the yellow (2pts) = Total 41pts. Your opponent would then have 2 reds (2pts) followed by 2 blacks (14pts) plus the green (3pts) brown (4pts) blue (5pts) pink (6pts) and black (7pts) = Total 41pts. I think that's right !!!!!!!!

Just a thought, the odds of Munchkins answer happening are one in a very high number (I'm am not clever enough to even try and work it out), so could you could class it as 'a totally normal game of snooker'?

What would happen if someone has potted everything and is just lining up to pot the black for the maximum 147 and then has a massive heart attack and drops down dead. Does his surviving opponent win by default with no penalty points being awarded as there has not been any foul strokes.

Friar Tuck, I suppose that it would be a very odd game should it happen. However I did see a televised match some years ago where the black ball had to be respotted on the yellow spot after only a couple of shots. The pink was hidden behind 3 or 4 reds and the yellow ball subsequently ended up on the black spot. One of the players then made a break, lasting 5 or 6 minutes, potting red and yellow, about 9 or 10 times before the break came to an end. I think he potted 19 balls. When the referee called out the score, 'TWENTY EIGHT', he turned round and said 'IS THAT ALL ?' SoTHC. If a player is more than 7 points ahead and the only ball left on the table is the final black , then the game is over! If the pink was still on the table, then even though 21 snookers would be needed, this is technically possible, so I assume the surviving player wins by default both the frame and the match.

Munchkin has the answer with 27 balls (ie the draw) because the black is then respotted legitimately to decide the frame.

To my surprise, hardly no quiz about snooker is yet online. So, this will be the first about this topic. I'll start off with a fairly easy quiz, if there is a response on it, I'll make other ones in the future. Have fun
