    How come if you cut a worm withwise it will grow into 2 and if you cut it lenghtwise it will die?

    		If you cut an earthworm in half, one half may survive but the other half will die. It is a myth that the two halves grow into new worms. There are types of worm (flatworms) which can be cut in half and both halves survive. They are much more primitive than an earthworms.
