In the 1980s, the iconic Nick Kershaw sang 'I won't let the sun go down on me'. How fast would he have to travel round the world at the equator in order to fulfil his statement?

According to NASA's web site the Earth's diameter is 7,926 miles and thus the circumference is 24900.26 miles. 25900.26 miles/day / 24 hours/day = 1037.5 miles/hour. He would never see the sun set as he would be travelling exactly the same speed.

Wouldn't it be good if you could do that! (Bad joke- sorry)

Thanks for that guys. At that speed, I suppose he really would be a human racing (apologies too).

To run that fast, your footsteps would have to be pretty Wide, Boy. (Come on now, that's enough!)
