According to Roget's Thesaurus under Request there are the following verbs, missing out hopefully the ones already mentioned, cadge, beg a boon, prefer a request or petition, ply, invite, beg leave, put to prayer, conjure, adjure, invoke, evoke, kneel to, impetrate, beset, importune, dun, tax, bsiege, bespeak, canvass, tout and court etc., etc. Jan 07 03, 7:13 PM
