    The largest mountain in the solar system, Olympus Mons, is on Mars. It is 3 times higher than Mt. Everest.

    Olympus Mons is the tallest known mountain in our solar system. It is a shield volcano, the result of highly fluid lava flowing out of volcanic vents over a long period of time, and is much wider than it is tall. Olympus Mons stands 27km above the surface of Mars.
