Titanic sank on April 15, 1912. It hit the iceberg at 11:40 p.m. on April 14, 1912, but did not actually sink until 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 2 hours and 40 minutes later.

Andy I understand your times are accurate but are GMT timings.
The Titanic was off Newfoundland and in a time zone 3 hours earlier than GMT. This means it sank at 23:20 on April 14th if you were actually on the Titanic.
