    was 3,463,000.

    At that time, The Federation of Canada was comprised of Nova Scotia, New
    Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario.
    Manitoba and the Northwest Territories entered confederation in 1870.
    B.C (Brainy Blonde's true home!) entered confederation in 1871.
    P.E.I entered confederation in 1873.
    The Yukon entered confederation in 1898.
    Alberta and Saskatchewan entered confederation in 1905.
    Newfoundland entered confederation in 1949.
    Nunavut entered confederation in 1999.
