Was Lady Jane Gray the Queen of England for nine days because she was waiting for Victoria to take over the throne, or Elizabeth?

    Question #2665. Asked by TinerGurl.

    McGruff

I wouldn't say Lady Jane Gray was waiting for anyone to take over the throne while she was queen for nine days. Her cousin, Mary I (Bloody Mary) had Lady Jane beheaded in 1553 and was queen until her own death 1558. Mary's sister, Elizabeth I was then queen from 1558 to 1603.

In support of McGruff's post...one can't rule if one doesn't have a head.
