The disease it is believed to have mutated from was commonly called 'Green Monkey Disease' before it crossed into human beings.

Kainantu, I assume it's the website's phrasing and not yours, but where does it get 'thirty years' from? The first AIDS death was 1959, or 43 years ago.

Jac, the article reads: THIRTY YEARS AGO, THE UNITED STATES CONTRACTED WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS TO MAKE AND PRODUCE A 'LEUKEMIA/LYMPHOMA' VACCINE. ('STATE ORIGIN: THE EVIDENCE OF THE LABORATORY BIRTH OF AIDS' AT PAGE 76, REPRINTING PROGRESS REPORT #9, (1972) OF THE U.S. SPECIAL VIRUS PROGRAM OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'). 'A REVIEW OF THIS FEDERAL PROGRAM IS IMPERATIVE SO THAT THIS 'MISSING MEDICAL HISTORY' CAN BE PLACED IN ITS PROPER SEQUENCE IN THE EVOLUTION AND INDUCEMENT OF HUMAN DISEASE', SAID GRAVES.
