I believe it did-the Derbyshire v Lancashire county cricket match lost at least one days play-and Lancashire's West Indian legend Clive Lloyd reportedly said it was the first time he'd seen snow.

I remember the day - June 2nd 1976. Where I was working in Suffolk there was a real blizzard for about 15 minutes, but the snow didn't settle - the ground was far too warm.
