CAABU condemns the United States' veto and Britain's' abstention of the proposed United Nations Security Council Resolution on Saturday 15th December. This is the 24th time that the US has used its veto on the question of Palestine, and the 35th time on the Middle East - more than any other member of the Security Council. http://www.caabu.org/press/releases/us-veto.html The veto was first used by the Soviet Union in February, 1946. Since then it has been used 245 times in public sessions of the Council. The Soviet Union/Russia and the United States have cast most of these vetoes, but the United Kingdom, France and China have all used it from time to time. http://www.una-uk.org/veto.html
