    If you are at the Atlantic end of the Panama Canal and sail along it to the Pacific end, how many miles west will you have traveled?

    		None. You actually sail East !
    This is due to the fact that the Panama isthmus runs approximately east to west and the canal runs from the Atlantic on the north side to the Pacific on the south side.
    The canal approximately runs NW to SE
