I believe you're referring to the notion that all US Presidents elected in a year ending in 0 before Reagan were assassinated (or died in office, depending on which story you're listening to). As for whether that notion is true, I have not done the research to ascertain one way or the other.

(bugger, hit send too soon) William McKinley (elected 1900, took office 1901) was shot in 1901 and died 2 weeks later. Warren G Harding (elected 1920, took office 1921) died of natural causes in 1923. Franklin D Roosevelt (re-elected 1940, re-elected 1945) died of natural causes in 1945. John F Kennedy (elected 1960, took office 1961) was shot dead in 1963. Ronald Reagan (elected 1980, took office 1981) was shot but survived, in 1981. George W Bush (elected 2000, took office 2001) might do well to be alert.

I believe he left his office one afternoon and a large breasted lady wearing only a smile and a hint of Chanel was jogging down the corridor. He ended her streak with a well timed tackle from behind that the Dallas Cowboy's defence would have been proud of. Having floored her, he held her by the bazookas until she was hauled off by the fuzz. Aroused he rushed home to Nancy to give her what for. Apparently his anger was aroused early that morning when he found that she had left the top off the toothpaste yet again. Well he wasn't going to get aroused for any other reason, was he? And if your wondering about the bazookas, some had been taken out the armoury and left in the corridor whilst it was cleaned!
