    Happy New Year. It is now the first day of the new year where I live. My question is in two parts. What animal is represented by this year and what number in the cycle does it represent?

    It's the year of the goat - but I'm afraid I was lost amongst the stems and the branches of the charts to answer the second part - unless it's 11? Incredibly complex!!

    According to my reference it's The Year of The Ram (OR sheep) and is the 3rd year of the cycle.
