Tabby Tom says: From Hutchinson's Encyclopaedia: Hodgkin's disease or lymphadenoma: a rare form of cancer, mainly affecting the lymph nodes and spleen. It undermines the immune system, leaving the sufferer susceptible to infection. However, it responds well to radiotherapy and cytotoxic drugs, and long-term survival is usual. It is named after Thomas Hodgkin (1798 - 1856), the British physician who first recognized it. Tue Feb 04 16:00:53 CST 2003 (Delete Entry) (Reposted to fix characters - McG)
