How many cups of coffee can you get from a coffee bean tree? ARABICA coffee trees yields 1 to 1.5 pounds of coffee beans per year ( 2.2 - 3.3kg ) ROBUSTA coffee trees yield 2 to 3 pounds of coffee beans per tree ( 4.4 - 6.6kg ) http://www.sacoffee.com/sys-tmpl/faqaboutus/ In theory (assuming no grinding loss, spillage, etc.), this would give 62 shots from a kilogram of coffee beans. http://www.espresso.com/Forum/index.cgi?read=384 ...a good espresso bean will deliver an espresso with 7gr of properly ground coffee. this means that the yeald (sic) from 1kg (1000gr) will be +-140 shots. Naturally you must set up you grinder to drop 7 grams http://www.espresso.com/Forum/index.cgi?read=396 120 cups per kilo of beans http://www.boema.com.au/economic.htm Thinking of going into business. Check out the above site. Using an average of the above 62+140+120 = 322 divided by 3 = 107 cups per pound. Say 100 cups per pound (times 2.2 to get kilos= 220 cups per kilo) The beans from an Arabica coffee tree would yield between 100 to 150 cups per pound of coffee. Or 220 to 330 cups per kilo. An Robusta coffee tree would yield 200 to 300 cups of coffee per pound per tree Or 440 to 660 cups per kilo. Keep in mind that most coffees are blended using arabica and robusta coffee.

So there you are. Trusting the above calculations are correct. I am mathematically challenged, remember! I spent 3 years in an around coffee trees and didn't know the above! Even sucked the cherries. Not particularly tasty. Rather gelatinous with a mild sweet flavour.('flavor' for the peasants!) I even slept a whole night in a coffee plantation under the stars at one time with a platoon of fully-armed soldiers. With my dog and my partner who insisted in taking a mattress!! We were not under arrest mind you ! Look at the profits 660 times {$3.00} per cup {=$} 1980 per pound WOW ! Must sell one of my hotels and go into the coffee making business!

Sorry to agree with you Kainantu but you are 'mathematically challenged' in your answer. You appear to have got your kgs and lbs back to front. Quote: 'ARABICA coffee trees yields 1 to 1.5 pounds of coffee beans per year ( 2.2 - 3.3kg ) ROBUSTA coffee trees yield 2 to 3 pounds of coffee beans per tree ( 4.4 - 6.6kg )' I always thought a kg was 2.2 lbs not the reverse. And then you recover, perhaps had a drink of coffee? 'The beans from an Arabica coffee tree would yield between 100 to 150 cups per pound of coffee. Or 220 to 330 cups per kilo. An Robusta coffee tree would yield 200 to 300 cups of coffee per pound per tree Or 440 to 660 cups per kilo. ' But obviously the effects do not last long and soon wear off !!!! 'Look at the profits, 660 times {$3.00} per cup {=$} 1980 per pound, WOW ! ' Or did you do this deliberately just to see if anyone is paying attention ??
