Is it possible to have one eye looking up, while the other is looking down. or one eye looking right, while the other is looking left?

For most people, it is not possible to have one eye looking left and one right. The furthest the eyes can go apart is parallel. It is also not possible to have one eye going up and one down. Some people have problems with their eyes (or there brains) which cause the eyes to look in opposite directions. I've never heard of anyone with one eye up and one down.

Whilst I agree with Gnomon, that generally the 'furthest the eyes can go apart is parallel', I disagree with 'For most people, it is not possible to have one eye looking left and one right.' Most people can go 'cross-eyed' where the left eye looks right and the right eye looks left. However the reverse, which I think is what Gnomon actually meant, is very rare.
