The FIA (Federation Internationale De L'Automobile) currently endorses only selected motor sports for its World Championship programmes and the FIA European Drag Racing Championship now runs alongside the other major FIA motorsports including the Formula 1 Grand Prix World Championship. The European Drag Racing Championship has been developed from initial negotiations between the NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) and the FIA. From this, the Drag Racing Commission, with the European organisers, developed a rule book for both racing, safety and construction of race cars. By 1997 the Championship was fully established on the FIA Calendar The FIM is the world governing body of all motorcycle sports. The current European Drag Bike Championship is operated under the UEM (Union of European Motorcycling) a division of the FIM. One big advantage the European Drag Bike Championship has over other motorcycle Championships is that its rounds are held and run alongside the FIA European Drag Racing Championship for cars at the same events. http://www.santapod.com/ THE HOME OF EUROPEAN DRAG RACING 'The Fastest Motorsport on Earth!'
