It is recorded that on September 1st 1939 ,that Goering was officially designated as Hitlers successor but others also have been mentioned such as Doenitz.Hitler himself was loathe to talk about a successor

But Doenitz did not become the Furhrer, but rather the person to sign the surrender the papers...

Doenitz was appointed President by Hitler on April 29, 1945. As Head of State, Doenitz commanded German forces for a further week until the eventual surrender.
