Plus.... Australia, Czechoslovakia, Greece, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Poland. There may also have been some Indian Army troops involved.

Thank you RicK F. It's interesting that our boys from down under are so sought after when the fight starts but completely forgotten when the accolades are doled out. Our kids would think that the US and Britian fought all wars all alone. My Dad who was a navigator in WW2 with the RAF told me that per capita NZ lost more men than any other Allied country.

Kiwi in Oz - I wasn't disparaging the ANZACs, it's just that I didn't think that any of them actually landed on D-Day unless they were actually serving in British units. I am well aware of the record of Australian and New Zealand troops and have seen the graves of many of them in Singapore, and on the Burma Railway.
