    During the Vietnam war how did soldiers get from the ships to the land past the heavily mined beaches without suffering any casualties?

    		Had an interesting time trying to find out, Taffy. Not found a definitive answer but US troops seem to have used helicopter landings very frequently and also experimented with air-cushioned vehicles in the late sixties.
