What differentiates a sport from a game?

Oxford English Dictionary doesn't differentiate between the two. Both are described as 'ways to amuse oneself in indulging of casual or pastime activities'

These days there is obviously an overlap but, most sports involve physical activity and many are based on the skills that Man once required to survive, whereas games tend to be invented for recreation and amusement.
