Why is the Tardis bigger inside than outside?

I don't think there is an explanation other than advanced science. The outside was supposed to change to fit in with the locality, but for some unexplained reason got stuck in the form of a London police telephone box. Probably cheaper for the BBC than making a new outside for each new adventure. Brilliant series - total rubbish but so are a lot of the best ones, which is not as much of a contradiction in terms as it may appear.

TARDIS or Time and Relative Dimension In Space, is larger on the inside than the outside because the inside is in one dimension (4D) and the outside is in a smaller dimension (3D).
