What was the children's book that had teddy bears called Velvet Trousers and Golden Syrup among the characters?

The book was called 'The Bear Bus', bus being short for omnibus. I think that there were two or three books in this collected edition. In one of them golden syrup and velevet trousers shortened their names to G.S.Y.Rup and V.T. Rousers, another had a family of nasty children who captured the bears fairy friend (I think) all I relly remember is the illustration.
