    		Moose (Alces alces gigas) are the largest member of the deer family. An adult male can weigh up to 1600 pounds and stand six feet tall at the shoulder. Moose are found in most areas of mainland Alaska and are fond of young willows for their food. Only the males possess antlers. Moose are called elk in Europe.

    		The moose (Alces alces) is the world's largest member of the deer family. The Alaska race (Alces alces gigas) is the largest of all the moose. Moose are generally associated with northern forests in North America, Europe, and Russia.
