    Here in the States, if a soldier is injured in battle they are awarded the Purple Heart - what do British soldiers receive?

    		There is no UK award for an injury sustained by a serviceman, awards are only given for outstanding acts of bravery/courage wether the person involved is injured, killed or has no injury at all. The Victoria Cross is the highest award that can be given to servicemen (The George Cross to civilians) many of the recipients of these awards were given them posthumously but many recipients are still alive and entering their 80th/90th years. All Forces personel are awarded medals for taking part in a campaign, there will be a special medal for those involved in the current Irac campaign. The UK honours ALL of it's forces for taking part.
