Scrambled eggs, I think. It was the only dish Eleanor knew how to make. FDR was no gourmand, he served hot dogs to the king and queen of England at Hyde Park!

Q. What was FDR's favorite food?
A. According to Henrietta Nesbitt, the White House housekeeper, FDR had very simple American tastes in foods; he liked foods "he could dig into." Among his favorite dishes were scrambled eggs, fish chowder, grilled cheese sandwiches, hot dogs, and fruitcake.
