    What do you call the stuff that gets up your nose?

    		The stuff that gets up your nose are airborne particles of dirt and other impurities, mixed with mucous. Our nasal passages are lined with small, hair-like structures called cilia that help trap these particles of dirt so they don't reach the lungs. The respiratory passages, including the cavity inside the nose, is lined with mucous membranes which contain glands that secrete mucous, a slimy substance that keeps the cavity lining lubricated and helps eliminate bacteria and dirt from the nose.
