How does an adrenaline rush work?

Question #31523. Asked by LOTRluver. (Apr 12 03 8:57 PM)

    mk2norwich

Your adrenal glands, one at the top of each kidney, send out a burst of adrenalin at certain times, especially when you are under immediate threat or danger.
This is known as the 'Fight or flight' situation- Adrenalin prepares the body for instant action, should it prove necessary.

This causes a 'rush', such as the one you describe.

It's been suggested that the model for this rather brazen work of art was a certain noblewoman, but we will probably never know. What we do know is that the work got the artist into trouble with a famously-authoritative religious body in his homeland and also cost him his job. What's more, when his nation belatedly honored the work in an unusually public manner, another country responded with outrage, thereby interfering with some people's correspondence. What is the work in question?

Nephew of a Queen's favorite and son-in-law of her spymaster, he dedicated his most famous work to yet another relative, who was a patron of poets. That work influenced a great playwright and a novelist, and is said to have been quoted by a king as he went to his death. Who was this man, and what is the work?

Which specific occupation would require staff to have a haircut prior to each rostered day at work, spend almost the same time preparing to go to work than the average person spends at work, and has to have the ability to remember categorical knowledge of their surroundings including the whereabouts of the items (about 100) that they are in trust of?
