The first Easter happened at Passover. They should coincide every year, but since they use slightly different calculation methods, they tend to be on different weekends now.

the apostles gathered with Jesus on holy thursday to celebrate the tradional meal of the passover. it is a jewish feast that celebrates the passing of the israelites from the slavery of the egyptians to the frredom of the promised land with moses. the passing of the angel of death over the houses of the people who had painted the blood of a sacrificed lamb on their door posts is also part of the celebration.
