Further to Tabby Tom's answer to #31738, what would 'settling the militia in Scotland' have involved - I have asked this previously of the House of Commons information service and they could not provide an answer?
Question

mochyn says: Well, Linus, far be it for a Welshman to tell an Englishman about the affairs of Scotland but.....Originally James Francis Stuart, Prince of Wales Pretender and the Queens half brother planned with Louis X1V the French king to invade Scotland and then starting a Jacobite rebellion and then using the militia in Scotland to invade England. Queen Anne wisely disbanded the militia men before they could be used against her and therefore put sovereignty of the realm before the wishes of parliament.
