In Mark's gospel, as Christ is being arrested it says 'There was a young man who had on nothing but a linen cloth. As they seized him he left the cloth and ran off naked.' (Mark 14:51-52) Why did the gospel writer include this strange passage?

Only Mark tells of this incident, and many believe that this young man was Mark himself. How else would he have known this story, and why else would he have included it? source- NKJV Nelson study Bible

The Lion Handbook to the Bible agrees:'There seems little point in the mention of the young man, unless this is Mark himself'.

Do You Know The Gospel of Mark?
|
How well do you know the Gospel of Mark? As I was playing the quizes in the Bible category, I noticed there weren't any quizzes on the book of Mark, the shortest of the gospels. I used the NIV translation and the Zondervan NIV Exhaustive Concordance.
