Working on the assumption that if there is a New Zealand there must be an old Zealand. According to Brewer's Dictionary of Names, New Zealand has a name that is a part anglicized form of the original Dutch name Nieuw Zeeland, (New Sea Land) perhaps also with reference to the Dutch province of Zeeland as the islands were discovered by a Dutch explorer, Abel Tasman.
